Description

Here is a shot of the little town of Albuken (or the ruins of) after the appearance of the strange Child of the Ether. Wind rise and reveal the entiere scene to these two travelers. Mountains have subsided, the queen of the mounts, in the background, slained by a terrific power.

This painting is the second version, enhanced, of the first vision of Albuken. The original was done with photoshop at the very beginning of my digital experience. I always love this image but with time, i found it too... flat. So i decided to enhanced it, with Painter this time. Hope you'll like it!

Thanks a lot for your comments;)
Daykan: yes, it's from a book i'm working on, an old job that never ends! The character with the red hair is Anoreth An'Arden, the Child of Ether, but she can't remember that she's the one who destroyed the village because her memory was deleted by the decadent power of Ether. The guy at right is Talyassin N'ajerassam, a "bard" who finds her near to death. oh... and the book is not publish yet... huhum, it's my entiere fault!

My only suggestion would be to add snow and ice to the village otherwise the entire rock outcropping that the town is on stands out too much. Why is the town devoid of ice and snow when a mountain which a huge glacier hovers over it? Otherwise, I really like the detail on the mountain and the town. Great job!

Love it! Great sense of scale and depth. One tiny tiny crit: The clothing of the figures seem really flat and smooth/undertextured compared to the details in the rocks. It's minor though. ;) Very excellent piece.

Nice atmosphere and texture on the foreground rocks. I'm not sure if I understand the rocks floating above the town, if their meant to be floating, sliding down the mountainside or exploding out from the towns island. You might want to make that a bit clearer in terms of readability.

Nice piece,
